The Rights Of A Western Girl

by Kat Caldwell

Summary

Kayla is happy to go home for spring break, ready for a simple week spent with her family and childhood friends. Between finals, her job and a recent breakup, she feels stressed and needs some rest from her life in the city, but as fate would have it, her expectations wouldn't be met. Upon her arrival, Kayla's family and friends notice that she doesn't seem to be herself. She tells stories from high school that no one can remember, she stares at the wall for hours on end and gets angry about things that never happened. Her friends remember her acting the same in high school, right before being hospitalized for depression. It isn't until they find out why she is depressed again that they realize just how much she has been holding back from them all along.
