Summary

In August 1864, Cheyenne and Sioux warriors launched a series of raids on the "road ranches" along the California-Oregon Train in Nebraska Territory, killing, wounding or capturing dozens of white settlers.  Massacre Along the Medicine Road details that violent summer, as seen through the eyes of the people who were the targets of the attacks.
