My letters of the 30th of November and 2d of December, were in Lord Cornwallis's pof fe ion, when his friend, Lord Townfhend, moved for thofebf his Lordfhip, which he judged nece 'ary to explain his conduct. The public will judge, whether mine were not, at leaf'r, equally fo, to explain mine; and whe ther, on finding that the Secretary of State had omitted to produce them to the Lords, Lord Cornwallis ought not to have defired Lord Townfhend to have moved for them. I declare, I would have done fo, had I been in his Lordlhip's place.
