As Chemistry

Summary
This text covers the content of all the main specifications for the main AS chemistry course. It aims to make the subject memorable, interesting and accessible. The text is divided into seven sections, each of which is further subdivided into topics. The first section links the AS course to material students will be familiar with from GCSE chemistry. The later sections build on this knowledge by presenting the material in a clear, concise manner and relating theory to practice throughout. The wider importance of each topic is explained along with details of how it relates to other topics in chemistry. Included in the text are case studies which use familiar examples to help motivate pupils, worked examples and practice questions, revision and examination tips and "maps" which help establish links and give an overall view.
