Summary

This volume deals with the interface between population dynamics and the various aspects of the lives of Asian women. The book looks at the status of women in China, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Kuwait and India. The papers commence with a historical account of the status of women in a particular country or region and an examination of issues such as their educational and economic status, legal rights, political participation and avenues for employment.
