Advanced Geological Map Interpretation

Summary
This map series is intended for more advanced geology students, perhaps in their second year at University, who have already been introduced to fundamental principles of geological maps, and to many of the other basic concepts in geology. The object at this stage is primarily to present maps which illustrate some of the important geological principles documented in the literature, so that their solution will result in a better understanding of those principles as well as a greater insight into the three dimensional relationships of rocks, which invariably form the basis of any subsequent interpretation. The examples have been selected from several parts of the world to illustrate a wide variety of geological situations, but they have also been taken largely from those areas with which the author is familiar, since in such circumstances the problems of field relations and their interpretations can be presented with more authority.
