Before We Disappear
Summary
Crossville, Tennessee, 1865 oa town ravaged by the War between the States. It's a land of dashed hopes, where the dreams of a once proud people have been ground into the dust by five years of costly bloodshed. Against the backdrop of the Reconstruction, a young man arises determined to return peace and prosperity to his people. He is J.D. Mchenry, who will risk everything to heal the war's turmoil, receiving aid from a savvy army captain to drive the wheels of progress toward his goal. The Mchenry family and their friends together keep the fires of human compassion lit in the name of good before J.D. and his kind disappear from the earth forever.
