Summary

Crossville, Tennessee, 1865 oa town ravaged by the War between the States. It's a land of dashed hopes, where the dreams of a once proud people have been ground into the dust by five years of costly bloodshed. Against the backdrop of the Reconstruction, a young man arises determined to return peace and prosperity to his people. He is J.D. Mchenry, who will risk everything to heal the war's turmoil, receiving aid from a savvy army captain to drive the wheels of progress toward his goal.
