The Extra Mile

Summary
The Extra Mile is the tale of one teenage boy’s pursuit of his childhood dream—becoming an Olympic gold medalist. As the story follows Jack O’Neil from his high-school track days to his eventual international stardom, he faces such obstacles as the jealous teammates who attempt to sabotage his career, a best friend who always seems to run just a little bit faster than Jack does, and an alcoholic teenage neighbor (who just happens to be his coach’s son) crying out for his help. However, Jack’s greatest struggle comes when he falls deeply in love with the proverbial girl-next-door and is forced to choose between spending his time pursuing his dream or spending it with his one true love. True, Jack’s devotion is strong, but will he be willing to go The Extra Mile?
