"Unni Hoel is no stranger to the world about which she writes so passionately. Born in Norway, where she lived her first twenty-two years, the country’s magnetism and natural beauty spurred her artistically. She is a painter and musician who in later years turned to writing. She is the author of four novels, including Overtones, Absolute Pitch, Bitter Cradle and her latest, Echoes of Balefire. She has written essays on music and psychology. She lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts with her husband.
