A system for assessing affectivity

by Marietta Johnson

Summary

This book narrates the conceptualiztion, establishment, and development of the School of Organic Education, founded by Marietta Johnson in Fairhope, Ala, in 1907 on the basis of revolutionary education theories. Perhaps the chief difference between Johnson's organic education and John Dewey (who deeply admired her accomplishment) was her unflagging belief that humanism is the key to successful teaching and that the humanities are the core of curriculum.
