Those Meddling Women

by Janice Bailey

Summary

This book contains the life stories of six "meddling" Anne Hutchinson, Abigail Adams, Sarah and Angelina Grimké, Sojourner Truth and Dorothea Dix. The areas in which these women meddled ranged from theology to government and politics. Each of them espoused a cause which was outside the realm of the "woman's place" in her time. Yet, motivated by religious convictions, a concern for humankind, and a sense of personal integrity, each of these women through her meddling made the world a better place for all humanity. A great resource for study groups, as well as individual reading.
