The global rise and growth of the Pentecostal Movement and Charismatic Renewal have changed both the nature and the structure of contemporary Christianity radically.
The Conference on Pentecostal and Charismatic Research in Europe at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (June 28 - July 1, 1989), «Experiences of the Spirit», studied this transformation mainly in the context of Europe. A variety of topics was dealt some originating from a specific context (Germany, France, the Netherlands, Jamaica, South Africa), others having a more systematic interest (pneumatology, faith healing, therapeutic ministry).
This volume contains all the documents of the the opening address, the key lecture by Prof. Walter J. Hollenweger, eleven other papers and additionally two epilogues (by staff members of the Faculty of Theology at the Utrecht University).
